Isn't it funny how things develop. You start off slow and then things get busier usually quite slowly. Well the Hayley story on Coronation Street has done great things for celebrants all over the country. Many celebrants are now busier than they could have ever dreamed of. Thank you Coronation Street for putting Celebrants on the map.

Well first funeral in Reading area went OK even if we did have to change chapels before the start of service due to the number of people that turned up. It was a nice service and everyone seemed to enjoy it. We managed to finish within our allotted time slot so the crematorium staff were happy too.

Thanks to Joan the Funeral Director for all her help, I think we made a good team.

New Business Starting To Come In

Starting as a Civil Celebrant is never easy as you have to make contact with the people that you need to do business with. I.E. Funeral Directors, Wedding/Partnership Clients, etc.

So you start by going around the funeral directors and making contact and finding out when there will be wedding fayre's in the area you want to work in and then booking yourself in.

You then sit back and wait for the phone to ring and it doesn't for a week or so and you start to feel despondent.

Then Hallelujah the phone rings and one person may offer you two jobs at the same time.
